Discrimination Policy

Teams Medical Services has a policy of non-discrimination, including (but not exclusively) discrimination on the grounds of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, nationality, marital status, disability, religion or gender.

You may be requested to provide information relating to any of these areas. We do so only in order to improve our service or because we believe that it may have a bearing on the consultation.

Regulation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended)

We do not ask for information regarding spent convictions from patients wishing to join the practice. It may be helpful to tell us about spent convictions if it impacts upon our ability to care for your health – telling us will not affect the care we give you.

However, working within the practice is considered a regulated activity and is exempt from the Regulation of Offenders Act. Not all previous convictions would prevent job applicants from being occupied at the practice (eg driving offences), but we are obliged to ensure that we take reasonable steps to protect the children and vulnerable adults under our care.
